High Pressure Hot Water – as a power system?

OK, so steam as a district heating medium is disappearing. Lots of good reasons.  One result is many systems are using high pressure hot water and often this hot water is heated from a waste heat source.  So, the question is, when you don’t need that high pressure hot water to heat things, how can you use it to make electricity?  mrm

  1. Couldn’t the high pressure hot water be flashed into steam when needed, i.e. geothermal power generation?
